"I'm your biggest fan."
This is a statement I've told each of my kids probably a hundred times. As parents, we invest so much time and energy into helping our kids achieve their dreams that we sometimes lose sight of our own. (However, there's nothing quite like watching your own kid live out a dream). My oldest dreamed of running equipment one day, now he's living out that dream interning for a construction company.
But, I want to turn the focus of this blog post on you. Have you ever had a small, persistent voice in your head that wouldn't let go of an idea? For me, it started with my daughter's voice before it became a repeating one in my own head.
"Mom, will you please write Edward's stories in a book?" she'd ask, night after night. At first, I brushed it off. These were just silly bedtime tales, right? Nothing more than a nightly ritual to send my kids off to dreamland.
But that little voice persisted. After the hundredth ask (yes, I counted!), something shifted. I realized that what seemed insignificant to me meant the world to her. So, I decided to surprise her and my boys with a book of Edward stories for Christmas.
Little did I know, that decision would be the first step on an incredible journey.
As I dove into the world of publishing, I quickly realized I needed more than just a printer and a dream. I needed to bring these stories to life in a meaningful way. That's when the idea of creating my own publishing company was born and that's when the voice shifted from my daughter's audible voice, to one that whispered itself in my own ear.
It wasn't easy. There were moments of doubt (many), times when I wondered if I was in over my head. I still wonder, but the voice is what keeps me going.
Today, that little idea blossomed into RoyalKIND, a company with a mission that goes far beyond publishing bedtime stories . It's about helping children (and adults!) understand their true worth and what they are equipped to do. (I can’t wait to share that story with you next!)
Today’s Simple Tip to Share:
I want you to know that your "silly" ideas, your seemingly small dreams, have the potential to grow into something beautiful and impactful. Whether it's a bedtime story, a business idea, or a personal goal you've been putting off,
I encourage you to take that first step!
When you're brave, your kids will want to be brave too!
